Tutoring after school.....

"Someone gets assassined and half the world sufferes because of it? Clearly John Lennon was born 40 years too late."

"It was more than that." Chris explained. "Tensions were brewing over there and sooner or later they were going to explode. It was the tipping point. Never underestimate the power of nationalism."

Serena sighed and wrote something in her note book. "It still wouldn't of hurt to spread a little meassage of peace and love back then."

"Agreed. But that's not really the point of history. The point is to understand what happened so it won't happen again." Chris said with a shrug.

"But, it doesn't always work that way right? I mean, if learned from our mistakes don't you think the second world war would of been avoided?" She asked as she looked at him.

Chris shook his head. "My senior thesis was on the Treaty of Versailles. I like to think of the period between World War I and II as the intermission. It was inevitable with what happened to Germany."

"Did you know that Hitler was an inbred? Maybe that's why he was so messed up." She said as she continued to write and doodle in her book.

Chris blinked. "Okay, you're kind of drifting into Krista territory with that last comment." He laughed and shook his head. "How about we pick this up on Thursday?"

"Ok, maybe a little." Serena laughed. "K, Thursday, same time?"

Chris nodded. "Same time, same place."

She closed her notebook and threw it into her bag. "I won't be late, I promise." She said putting the bag ovr her shoulder.

"See you then." He said as he closed up the book and put it in his own bag.

Serena turned on her heels and began to walk away, turning back once to catch one last look at him.
