Research, anyone?

"We've noticed a few patterns that are far too blatant to be coincidence. Not," he added, snorting, "that we believe in coincidence anyway. We're starting to piece together a bigger picture. And in a completely unrelated question, when is your next break in classes?"

"Winter break." Vanessa responded. "We have off the whole month of December. Why?"

"Good. We'll try to swing it so that if anything goes down, it'll happen while no one's at the school."

"Sam said something about Wolfram and Hart being a major donor to the school." She looked over at Dean. "Maybe we should start there first."

"This isn't our first go 'round, Nessa," he said with a laugh and a shake of his head. "They're one of the top priorities on our list. But going in, guns blazing, wouldn't work out too well with this one, unfortunately. So we're stocking up on knowledge and bullets first."

Vanessa nodded slowly and got an idea. "Haley Archibald. I know that she has an internship there. Maybe she could get us some inside information."

"Wait a minute, the little blonde student body whatever has an internship with Wolfram and Hart?" It was a testament to his skill that he didn't slam on the brakes in the middle of traffic. "Why's she working for those evil sons of bitches?"

"The same reason that anyone would. To get inside information." Vanessa said. "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

"They're more than your normal enemy, Vanessa. It's not safe." And as the odds were, they knew she why she was there; sneaky bastards could be using her without her even knowing it.

"Haley's crafty. I'm sure that she can hold her own." Vanessa said. "She's pretty good at kissing ass to get what she wants. You should see her in gym class when she doesn't want to participate. I swear, she's got it down to an art form."

Sneaky is one thing and demons are another. But he's not going to argue, not right now anyway. "So what did you find in your research, by the way? Anything useful?"
